Last month,I accidentally found a video while browsing for something else on google. It is the video of the inauguration ceremony (in June,2003) of the Sri Guru Datta & Karya Siddhi Hanuman temple in Trinidad.
This is the temple which we usually visit here on important occasions & festivals. So I started browsing more...and I was very surprised by the facts that I found. There are as many as 300 temples here in Trinidad. And the 85 ft Karya Siddhi Hanuman statue which we always adore when we visit the temple here is the biggest one located outside India. Now.... that is something interesting, isn't it?
This temple was built by South Indian artisans (from the state of Karnataka?!) under the instructions of Sri Ganapathi Sachidananda Swamiji of Datta peetham.I found some snaps of the dieties present in this temple on the official website of Swamiji.
Here is a slideshow I prepared using the snaps from the website...
We went to the temple yesterday morning as it was my birthday...and my husband took a few snaps using his mobile cam. The clarity of these pictures is not too good, but I hope you enjoy seeing them.

The Datta temple
But one thing really bothered me yesterday while visiting the temple... The Hanuman statue in the sanctum sanctorum has been modified to appear in the form of Sri Ganapathi Sachidananda Swamiji... yes,I do revere him as He is a saint & an elder to me.... but I'm worried seeing this kind of Vyakthi puja instead of worshipping the Lord himself.
I don't know...May be I'm right...May be I'm wrong to feel like this.
